It’s not about their actual effectiveness, it’s about the justification people use to force more “AI” reasons to fire people, reduce pay, eliminate jobs, and so on, and so on…

Literally the first point in this speech, though broad, is making that case. A very small number of people are forcing this shit down people’s throats, and using it to justify the loss of monumental numbers of jobs.

Feel free to look up Amazon’s upcoming waves of layoffs, Salesforce, Google, HP…etc. Amazon alone claims they will be replacing 150k jobs in the US alone in the next year with robots. Again, first point brought up by Bernie.

I mean…there’s been plenty of people making PoCs showing Graphene isn’t really THAT secure, it’s probably just more obscure to a point. They’re pissed the cops have to work at it, but even somebody using Samsung or Google tools to properly sandbox certain data has the same capability to do so AFAIK.

This is a great talk, but it’s ignoring the real issue in that it would need to be “in-line”, which is not anywhere near possible. They sort of address that, but are talking about the cyphers themselves mostly.

I think we’ve reached the cusp where we can exchange new derivative keys on the fly per request without making too much of a dent in speed, but that comes with all kinds of tradeoffs on session length and convenience I suppose.

Edit: I guess there is another eventuality where governments just go and farm public keys and use them against targeted traffic. Not a good way to beat that right now.
