I think the tech industry got used to people not giving a fuck as they shoveled more and more anti-features with weak “feature” reasoning to back it up (like convenience of having all your files in one place to justify continual data transfer between the device and their servers, processing audio remotely to justify sending an audio feed, “you can access your history” to justify saving the history, etc) that they are surprised that there’s pushback as it enters this new level.

For where they are today, they got rid of UT so it wouldn’t compete with fornite. So I don’t even give them any positive thoughts for that legacy.

Also iirc it was one of the few games that targetted linux compatibility back in the day, but epic has more recently taken a “fuck linux” stance and from what I understand deliberately prevents it running on linux via proton (“from what I understand” because it might just be the kernel level anti-cheat bs, but iirc he’s said things like all linux users are just trying to cheat). So he can keep his free games and while I would like to see someone actually compete with Valve, I hope some fortnite players wake up and stop spending money on dumb mtx shit so epic goes under.

Don’t ban aftermarket exhausts completely, just the ones that optimize for loudness or dirtier air.

I’d like to see devices that detect when a car is running too rich or lean (bad cases I can smell right away, so it should be detectable at a range), along with enforcement and seizing vehicles where they deliberately mess with those, especially if there’s a switch or function present that can switch between legal and illegal modes to pass emissions tests and then go back to spewing out unburnt fuel or a much higher number of nitrous oxide compounds.

Not to mention they often cheap out on both the software and hardware, so you end up having to slowly navigate through poorly designed UIs that it struggles to display.
