Switzerland has been losing its privacy-respecting status for a while now.
Which country is (currently) next on the list then?

Had to look him up. Gold.

You’ve been learning statistics from an LLM, haven’t you?

Said poll.

Way ahead of you on that, welcome to the club.

So new nvidia chip designs will include israeli rootkits, got it.

It’s not conservatives, it’s money and power.

No, it’s big companies selling to the highest bidder instead of keeping all their customer tiers.

Big brands already said Fuck you consumer, we’re gonna sell to the big boys.
It only saddens me that when the AI bubble bursts people will still buy stuff from the likes of Micron when they start supplying the plebes again.
get a dumb phone, a CD player, and check out books, movies, music, and games from the library as my entertainment?
Totally valid idea.
Ever considered browsing gemini pods? It’ll be like surfin’ the web in the 90s, quite a few rabbit holes.
Does anyone else feel this way? Have you found ways to reconnect with technology?
Occasionally, yeah. I’m on the linux-selfhost-etc path and intend to stay on and amplify it. I see it as a little personal challenge and not as a tide to hold back (although it is).

I’d forgotten about stuxnet, quite the (technical) feat.

It is a misconception that you cannot do encryption with ham radio.
Encryption: read the comments - in some jurisdictions you can’t (legally).
Affordability: in some parts of the work it’s expensive to get a ham license (required by law).
Ease of access: that one’s subjective, fine.

you need to learn about how insecure all of those are.
By all means enlighten the idiots. Start with meshtastic’s weak encryption.

it isn’t really adding anything that can’t also be done on ham.
Encryption, affordability, ease of access.

our local mature club

Do oil pipelines count? 'Cos Colonial got hacked and everybody thought they were airgapped.
I think some water facility was too but no serious values were changed - 'cos and admin preferred to sit comfy at home.

I wonder if that fancy bed company that saw it’s beds freeze 'cos no AWS ever sold to hospitals…

Oh, good, it’ll only take them a decade to start doing anything but i guess it’s a start…
And modest!
